Shijimaya family has been living in the area of Izumino since the Edo period, and started their business as merchants since 1875. The merchant culture has handed over beyond generations and still alive. On the other hand, Kanazawa is where the Samurai Culture is rooted in life, too. The Shijimaya-Honpo family has also affected by samurai culture since their roots connect with samurai clans. We would appreciate if you could feel the fusion of samurai culture and merchant culture.
武家（サムライ）文化が生活に根付く街、金沢。当家は江戸より金沢泉野の地に居を構え、明治８年（1875年）より商売を営む中で、町人（商人）文化を脈々と受け継いで参りました。一方、武家からの嫁入り、武家の流れをくむ現当主など、武家文化の影響も生活の中に息づいています。武家文化と町人文化の融合を感じて頂けますと幸いです。
